If you really want to, here’s how to cheat in Words With Friends

Words With Friends 2 is one of the best word games out there right now. Unlike Wordle, which is more of a solo game, Words With Friends 2 allows you to directly compete against your friends to see who has the superior vocabulary and strategy game skills.

Those who have mastered the game might be able to take on any opponent solo, but some of us need a little help.

Cheating at a game you play for fun kind of defeats the purpose of playing it, but sometimes when you’re playing those games you just get caught in a jam. Maybe you’re tired, or maybe you just got caught with a crappy set of letters. We’re here to help you not lose at the infamous Word With Friends 2 in case anything gets in the way of you maintaining your legendary dominance. There are a few ways to go about it.

Obviously, you don’t want to use these tools to cheat forever. But using them here and there can help you learn the game and expand your vocabulary.

Have an oddball mix of letters in your hands and don’t know what you could possibly spell with them? Don’t worry — you can just plug them into this website and find words you’ve never heard before. Scrabble Word Finder is a browser tool that will give you a list of all the words you could spell with the tiles available to you. Just type in the letters you have (don’t forget to enter blank tiles with a question mark) and hit enter to receive a long list of words to play.

This tool doesn’t mean you’ll automatically win the game. You still have to find the perfect spot to play these words to earn the most points. You can always enter letters available on the board in addition to the tiles in your hands to find additional playable words. You can use this tool on both desktop and mobile.

If you don’t want to even deal with the hassle of where to place words (let alone find the best words), you can always have a computer do it for you. WordsWithFriendsCheat.io is the only cheat site that allows you to upload a screenshot of your game to analyze the board and give you the perfect move. The only downside to this tool is that it only works on mobile.

All you need to do is take a screenshot of your Words With Friends game, upload that screenshot to the website, and look through the potential words you can play. The tool will give you quite a few potential plays, but you’ll have to watch a brief ad in order to see the top-scoring words. Having the words list tailored specifically to your board makes it easy to place ridiculously high-scoring words that combo with other played words and hit all the right spaces on the board.

If you have trouble uploading your screenshot, check out the site’s FAQ section on how the tool works. Unfortunately, this tool only works with mobile screenshots. Sorry, desktop players!

Frequently asked questions

Is it possible to cheat on Words With Friends?

The only way you can cheat in a game of Words With Friends is via apps and websites to look up words, such as the ones shown above. There are no cheat codes in Words With Friends.

How can you tell if someone is cheating on Words With Friends?

While there will be no magic notification that will tell you if a person is cheating in a Words With Friends 2 match, there are some clear signs that can make you aware of the possibility. If your opponent consistently uses all of their tiles or gets letters like ‘Q’ or ‘X’ over the double or triple letter/word bonuses consistently, that could be a big sign they are cheating. Additionally, while spoken English and written English are different, if your friend display an incredibly detailed vocabulary in Words With Friends that they do not display in real life, they are likely cheating. However, they could be using the lightning bolt symbol for a boost!

What does the lightning bolt mean on Words With Friends?

The lightning bolt on your Words With Friends app is a temporary powerup that will alert you if there is a better play available. While it isn’t exactly cheating as it is in the game, this powerup can help you get the optimal play every turn, at least if you are willing to experiment. To keep the game fair with friends, we recommend that you skip on this powerup and just play.

Avatar: Generations reemerges with new release window, preregistration

Free-to-play Avatar: The Last Airbender mobile RPG Avatar: Generations has reemerged under a new publisher, as the game now has an early 2023 release window and is available for pre-registration on Android.
Avatar: Generations is a turned-based RPG like Marvel Strike Force or Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes that lets fans play through the stories of various Team Avatars. At launch, the focus is on Avatar: The Last Airbender's story, although the press release for this announcement teased that Avatar: Generations will eventually get updates that feature The Legend of Korra stories and characters, as well as never-before-seen Avatars.
Avatar Generations - Official Gameplay Trailer - Coming Soon to Mobile!
As players progress through the game, they will collect various heroes and companions based on characters from the franchise, and then upgrade those characters and build a squad that's best fit to complete a given level. Those who pre-register for the game will receive hero Avatar Aang and companion Appa free of charge. Although it's not the AAA console game Avatar: The Last Airbender fans are yearning for, Avatar: Generations is shaping up to be the most thorough Avatar game yet.
Interestingly, this announcement also confirms that Avatar: Generations publisher is now Crystal Dynamics -- Eidos Entertainment, a subsidiary of Embracer Group. Avatar: Generations was initially announced by Square Enix last year, but it appears that the Square Enix London Mobile team that was handling the game was part of Square Enix's western studio sale to Embracer Group last summer.
Even though Embracer Group shut down Onoma, a mobile studio it acquired from Square Enix, it still seems interested in Avatar: Generations, likely due to its existing relationship with Nickelodeon and the fact that Avatar: The Last Airbender is a well-known IP. Avatar: Generations is developed by Navigator Games.
Avatar: Generations will launch on iOS and Android in early 2023.

Marvel Snap’s Winterverse event introduces new cards, variants, and more
Marvel Snap art highlights Winterverse variants for Rogue, Ebony Maw, Patriot, and Rockslide.

The latest Marvel Snap update kicks off the Winterverse event, bringing many holiday-themed variants and brand-new cards to the mobile card game.
The two new cards coming to Marvel Snap this week are Darkhawk and Sentry. Darkhawk is a superhero who first emerged in the 1990s and has a techno-organic body with glider wings. In Marvel Snap, he's a 4-Cost, 1-Power Ongoing card that gives +2 Power for each card in the deck of your opponent.
Meanwhile, Sentry is a hero that was introduced in 2000 that has Superman-like abilities, but is connected to an evil entity called the Void that's just as powerful. In-game, that translates to Sentry being a 4-Cost On Reveal card with 8-Power that can't be played at the right location, as playing Sentry will cast a -8 power Void card there.

We don't know if Sentry and Darkhawk are Series 3, Series 4, or Series 5 cards yet. It will take some time for Marvel Snap's meta to evolve and really prove whether or not Darkhawk and Sentry are all that useful, but they do both have interesting abilities. Regardless, keep an eye out for them in Collector's Reserves and in the Token Shop.
They're not the only part of the Winterverse event, though. From December 20 until January 2, Second Dinner is giving away in-game awards for logging in each day. These range from 100 credits to a special Nick Fury card variant featuring Samuel L. Jackson's signature. Five new winter-themed card variants will also start to show up in the shop and Collector's Reserves. You can now find Winterverse cards for Abomination, Ebony Maw, Patriot, Rockslide, and Rogue.
A Winterverse bundle that includes a Sunspot Winterverse Variant, Avatar, 2000 Collector's Tokens, 8000 credits, 100 Sunspot Boosters, and a "Tacos After This?" title will be added to the shop in the coming days as well.
Marvel Snap is available now for iOS, Android, and PC, and it even made Digital Trends' best games of 2022 list.

The best gaming smartphones for 2022
Asus ROG Phone 2

Once mocked as the home of “filthy casuals,” mobile gaming has advanced over the last few years, with games like Genshin Impact, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Mobile, and Fortnite showing that the humble smartphone can provide just as much enjoyment as the console parked in front of the TV.

While almost all smartphones can play mobile games, some are better at it than others. If you’re really serious about games, perhaps even at a competitive level, there are phones built expressly for the purpose. Our top choice is the Asus ROG Phone 6 because it’s made specifically for gamers.
