Right now, we’re seeing great deals on one of the best foldable phone lines out there, the Google Fold. Depending on the carrier and company offering the sale, the deals are slightly different, so we’ve arranged them for you in a way that will allow you to pick your best. Plus, we look at the Google Fold in depth and analyze if it is really the phone you should buy at the moment.

Today’s best Google Pixel Fold deals

Should you buy the Google Pixel Fold?

You know that you can buy the phone, but does that mean that you should? It really depends, of course! Here, we present arguments both for and against taking this deal.

Buy the Google Pixel Fold

The arguments in favor of buying a Google Pixel Fold are plentiful. It has long been considered one of the best smartphones on the market, just recently having been cycled off the list for shiny newcomers like the Google Pixel 8 Pro. It has an OLED screen with an admittedly weird 1080 x 2092p screen, sporting a 120Hz refresh rate, still quite high for a phone. It also has an inner display, of course, that stretches 7.6 inches from corner to corner and hits 1840 x 2208p. From our Google Pixel Fold review, or really any user of the phone, you’ll see that the Google Pixel Fold has a truly wonderful camera. Look at this flower, captured during the aforementioned review:

Overall, the phone feels smooth and cool to use, a result of the delightful combination of its G2 chip and that 120Hz refresh rate. You’ll get at least a day’s usage out of a fully charged battery, and can go quite beyond that if you use every energy-saving feature of the phone. This means that, even using all of this power and multiple screens, the Google Pixel Fold will still hold up to all of your needs.

Don’t buy the Google Pixel Fold

If you’re skeptical of the Google Pixel Fold, that’s okay too. As it turns out, when we compare the Google Pixel Fold vs the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, it is anybody’s game! While the Google Pixel Fold has clearly better cameras, delivers faster wired charging, and provides machine learning-powered photographic tools, it can be a bit clumsy to hold. All of this is to say that you might want to consider this deal on an unlocked Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 with 256GB of storage as well. The deal isn’t at good (it’s only $100 off) but it’s worth considering in the context of buying a Google Pixel Fold.

The best folding phones in 2024: the 6 best you can buy
Someone opening the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Folding smartphones have taken the world by storm. Initially, they appeared futuristic and exciting. With time, they have been refined and improved to cater to everyday use. Their prices are gradually decreasing as the technology advances, but they still remain expensive purchases, making it crucial to make the right buying decision.

Currently, there are two types of folding smartphones available in the market. The first type resembles a regular non-folding phone, which can be unfolded into a larger tablet-like device. The second type is similar to the classic Motorola Razr clamshell phones, where a normal-sized phone can be folded in half to become more compact and pocketable. Although both use the same screen and hinge technology, they cater to different needs.
